Humpty Dumpty
Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall;
Humpty Dumpty had a great fall.
All the King’s horses
And all the King’s men
Couldn’t put Humpty together again!

Like the Nursery Rhyme tells us; once we have a great fall (and damage something fragile:  attitudes, relationships, careers, self-confidence) it is extremely hard (and often expensive) to put it back together again.
