That’s right; we are taking them both on in one shot.

Never talk Politics or Religion in mixed company.  I have been told that since I was a young republican attending Sunday school.   These days not only do we talk about Politics and Religion we talk about Politics AS Religion.

Our Nation was built on unlikely yet true stories of inspiration against all odds.  Our country earned the freedom to pursue a Nation in its own image by an inspired yet ill-prepared militia defeating a much stronger, more prepared, yet less inspired British Army.

A former slave inspired toward a better future became one of the most famous inventors and scholars of his time; A woman inspired NOT to move to the back of a bus started a revolution that made real the vision that “all men are created equal”; a College drop out inspired by an idea in his parents’ garage became the wealthiest man in the world.

Clotair Rapaille in his book “The Culture Code:  An Ingenious Way To Understand Why People Around the World Buy and Live as They Do” describes this well.  He refers to the United States as a nation of Dreamers.

Frankly, I hate election campaigns because EVERY candidate tries less to sound like a potential President of the United States and more like a potential Pastor of the United States!  Dreamers do not need to elect someone to inspire them!  Dreamers need to elect people that will allow their dreams to come to fruition; to make them real.  Leaders that will lead, follow, or get the Hell out of the way!

Self help books and positive thinking based cognitive therapy remind us that Action brings Motivation; not the reverse.  So why do we seem hell-bent on electing a President whose primary purpose is to inspire us as a Nation?

Don’t accuse me of speaking about or endorsing any one candidate.  I am not.  ALL of the candidates are preaching the same DREAM and we seem content to elect whichever one can deliver the better sermon.

Ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country.  The best thing you can do for yourself and for your country is to:  be inspired by what you are trying to do (“Get Out of Bed and Go to Work!” – Commandment #5).

Please stay active and involved.  Don’t be lulled into sleep by visualizing the DREAM offered from the platform.

DREAM your own dream!  Elect whoever will help you realize your DREAM.
